Blessings in a Box
On March 12, 2017, First Baptist Church in Jeff dedicated this little free food pantry called "Blessings in a Box"!
May God be praised in this community outreach and may people come to know the love of Jesus, the Bread of Life.
The pantry is open 24/7 and is located at 2402 E. Hwy. 62, in Jeffersonville, near the entrance to the church parking lot.
"Take what you need...leave what you can."
Prayer Blanket Ministry
Church volunteers sew a small, simple blanket, which is then "covered in prayer" by our church family and given to those in need of prayerful support.
LOAVES AND FISHES
First Baptist members volunteer a few Saturdays a year at Loaves and Fishes, a program that prepares and serves lunch to those in need. Several churches participate at the site, which has been hosted by St. Luke’s United Church of Christ in downtown Jeffersonville for years. The churches’ teams serve on a rotating basis as volunteers carry out Jesus’ command to "feed my sheep" with joy. Waiting to serve 116 meals recently were members of FBC’s team that included Alyssa and Paula Glover, Bob and Martha Read (coordinators), Kay and Cliff Richardson, Jim And Joyce Miller, Jim Kanning, and Bill Napier.
Use your talents...the building of a SHOWER TRAILER
Doesn’t a nice warm shower feel great after an exhausting day of work, travel, or recreation? What happens when you don’t have access to a warm shower? Are you temporarily annoyed or feeling yucky? First Baptist of Jeffersonville needed a shower trailer for youth missionaries staying at our church during the summer of 2019. Starting with a trailer frame, then adding skills and talents of First Baptist family and friends, and money for supplies, the shower trailer was completed in time to be used by youth from surrounding states working with MissionServe.org to paint, landscape, re–roof, and build handicap ramps for homes in Jeffersonville.
